QUESTION: Do you sleep well at nights?
You just need to be able to go to bed at night and know that based on who you are and who God made you to be; you’ve contributed the greatest good that you can for the good of others. And that when you get up in the morning you can’t wait to get out of bed because there’s eager anticipation that your life can be a gift to the world. Life is a gift. When you receive it as a gift you begin to give yourself as a gift.
SUCCESS is figuring out if I used my time and energy today the way God wanted me to use it or if I wasted it.
SUCCESS is having clearly defined goals and meeting them with integrity.
Leaders understand and live two powerful words. Faithfulness and a Fear of God.
• Faithful people can be trusted to carry out the work God has for them.
• God-fearing leaders can be expected to do so in line with God’s priorities.
As a leader we must be leading the way. Then we will be looking for others to lead with us. We must choose wisely. If we choose people that live with faithfulness and reverence as two very important qualities, we will have chosen well. Although other qualities may seem impressive, faithfulness and reverence pass the test of time.
As we honestly evaluate ourselves as a leader, we will sleep much better at nights when we live and lead from this place. When we sleep better, we feel better. When we feel better, we lead better.
As we lead and feel the disappointment of failure and the exhilaration of success, times change. Two emotions usually follow a great achievement: first, a sigh of relief and celebration; and second, a sense of…… now what?
How we handle achievement tells us a lot about our character. The period following success can become a dangerous time. Sometimes we feel tempted toward complacency, especially if we lack another goal. We can become satisfied and let down our guard. Momentum leaks.
The moment of victory is a crucial time for any leader. The leader must be able to change – or face a transitional problem. The transitional problem occurs when the leader does not know how to grow with others.
So, I ask the question again. Are we sleeping well at nights?
