Live the MissionLife.
From August of 2017 to January of 2020, Pastor Nathan produced 47 MissionLife episodes. This engaging content focuses on the power of neighboring, the missional character of Christ and the challenge of discipleship in a divided culture. We have carefully selected and organized a number of the MissionLife episodes that relate closely to discipleship. Allow this resource to provide encouragement and innovation to your journey!
Inefficient
We all have things to do, work to get done and tasks to accomplish. To live a missional life, we're going to need to shift how we view efficiency. We are no longer focused on efficiency in our work. Our priority has become efficiency in our relationships. For that reason, the MissionLife is sometimes inefficient in the work because people come first. |

Meeting
A philosopher once said, "All real living is meeting." Quite a statement! In this episode, we're visiting a nursing home, a stadium and religion department. Can we grow as isolated Christians? Do we have to be in relationships in order for our faith to mature? |

Tony (pt 1&2)
Meet my friend Tony. In part one, you'll hear Tony share his story. In part two, we'll visit the people who were a part of his story. Through these two episodes, you will be given a beautiful picture of the power of relationship and the potential we all have to change lives by God's power. |

Cost
How far are you willing to go? Or, here's a tough question: What calling from God would cause you to hesitate before accepting? Let's put in another way: have you counted the cost? We're heading to my classroom, just north of Kampala in Uganda. As you think about your cost of the calling, let's talk with some who have already measured. |
|
Disagree
No matter who you are discipling, there's going to be a disagreement. If it hasn't happened yet, just wait. In this episode, I sat down with my friend Tiaan Du Preez to discuss a funny idea he had: "hey, let's find something we disagree about". |
|
Margin
"Sorry, I just don't have time." Have you ever heard this? Have you said it? Everyone is busy all the time. We just don't have the margin for...wait what? In your life, what is getting squeezed to the margin? What do you not have time for anymore? This episode is all about putting people back in the middle. It's about living like Jesus did. |
|
Random
Have you ever benefited from a random act of kindness? It's such a great feeling! It's not discipleship though. It's not relational. It's not missional, either. Missional living and discipleship are only experienced through transformational relationships. It's not random. It's very specific. It's personal. |
|
Imagine
There's no such thing as a chocolate river. Unless you imagine it. There's no such thing as a vision for them, hope for them, dream for them...unless we imagine it. Imagination in missional living is the impossible gift of the human brain to see something impossible. As we disciple, we must imagine and share what we have imagined for those around us. |
|
Preach
A mentor once told me, "your sermon begins the moment you wake up and leave your house". In this episode, I'm interviewing Lenny Luchetti, a professor at Wesley Seminary. We're discussing the role of relationship and communication as we live lives that preach. |
|
Ask
It's tempting to get involved in a discipleship relationship and start teaching. We might think, "I know what you need to do!" and just rattle off a bunch of instructions. In this episode, we're considering the value of asking questions, listening and considering. |
